As we never stop learning, we are giving the following pricing model a deeper thaught:
Concept:
The hotel will offer a fixed room rate of €100 per night. However, guests have the opportunity to reduce their room charges down to zero by sharing their experiences on social media platforms during their stay.
For each post they make on any social media channel (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.), they will receive a €1 deduction from their room rate. This means that if a guest stays for one night and makes 150 posts across various social media platforms, their room charge will be entirely waived.
The “Pay with Posts” model aims to incentivize guests to actively promote the brands by sharing their positive experiences, reviews, photos, videos, and other content on social media. This strategy leverages the power of user-generated content and social proof to attract potential new customers organically.
Tracking Social Media Posts:
To ensure accurate tracking and deduction of room charges based on social media posts, we would implement the following system:
- Dedicated Hashtag: Every brand can create a unique, branded hashtag (e.g., #BrandNameExperience) that guests must include in their posts for them to be counted towards the deduction.
- Social Media Monitoring Tools: We would utilize social media monitoring tools or services that can track and aggregate posts containing the dedicated hashtag across various platforms. These tools offer comprehensive analytics and reporting capabilities.
- Guest Check-in and Check-out Process: During check-in and as well in the booking process, guests will be informed about the “Pay with Posts” program and the dedicated hashtag they need to use. At check-out, they will be required to provide their social media handles or links to their profiles, allowing the hotel staff to verify and count the number of eligible posts made during their stay.
- Manual Verification (Optional): If necessary, we could assign staff members to manually verify and count the eligible posts made by guests. This approach may be more time-consuming but can serve as a backup or supplement to the automated tracking methods.
- Integration with Hotel Management System: Our property management system (PMS) or booking software can be integrated with the social media monitoring tools or databases to automatically apply the appropriate deductions to the guest’s final bill based on the number of verified posts.
By implementing this concept and leveraging social media monitoring tools, brands can effectively track and incentivize guests to share their experiences, fostering organic promotion and attracting potential new customers through user-generated content.
